Product review: VitaLife natural dog treats

We were excited to receive a package of VitaLife natural dog treats from DogTime media to review.  At first I was a bit leery of giving these treats to my senior dog Cody as they are higher in protein than his regular treats.  Despite the higher protein level, these dog treats all have  a good source of natural Vitamins and don't have a bunch of extra additives or dyes in them.

VitaLife Chicken and Banana Wraps

Ingredients: Chicken, Banana Chips (Banana, Coconut Oil)
Health benefits:  These treats are a good source of Protein, Potassium, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin C

The Verdict: These are hands down Cody's favorite VitaLife treats of the three he had to try.  One of his most favorite things in the world to eat are bananas so this was a natural winner with Cody.  They are a smaller bite-size treat that would be good to use as small training rewards.

VitaLife Duck and Sweet Potato Twists

Ingredients: Duck, Sweet Potato
Health benefits:  Sweet potato is high in Vitamins A, C and B6 which provide immunity, easy digestion and prevent weight gain

The Verdict: Another thing Cody loves is sweet potato, and these Duck and Sweet Potato Twists were a hit.  They are great for chewing - awesome for helping to keep their teeth clean!  However I wouldn't recommend them for tiny dogs as they are a bigger-sized small treat.  side note: my cats are big fans of these too, sans la Sweet Potato of course.

VitaLife Chicken Tender

Ingredients: Chicken, Flaxseed Oil, Vitamin A Acetate, Vitamin E Supplement
Health benefits:  These treats contain Vitamin A and E to benefit your dog's healthy skin and coat

The Verdict: These Chicken Tenders treats are an all-round hit with both Cody and the 2 cats.  All three of them couldn't get enough of these treats.  Like the Duck & Sweet Potato Twists these treats are good for chewing which is so important for the health of your dog's (and cat's) teeth.  My neighbor's dog also gives these treats 4 paws up, and he's a hard one to please when it comes to treats!

All in all these VitaLife natural dog treats are great - for less ingredients (No Sorbitol, No added glycerin, No added salt, No preservatives, No artificial flavors) your dogs get more in terms of health benefits.  And you get the peace of mind that they're eating healthy natural treats!

I wish more people would realize that you should switch to organics for your pets as well. I personally would be more worried about the crap that they put into pet food over human as there are probubly more controls in that!
